Operations Supervisor
Hempsted based – Covering all 5 HRC’s within Gloucestershire
Salary per annum, £34,434 – 35,412 Per Annum + 5% Shift allowance
Full time, permanent, 4 on 4 off shift pattern, 10 hours per day, annualised hours
Ubico is looking a motivated Operations Supervisor to join our team and oversee the day-to-day running of our operational workforce. This role covers a wide range of frontline services including waste management, household recycling centres, health & safety, and compliance.
As an Operations Supervisor, you’ll play a vital role in supporting staff, ensuring services are delivered efficiently and safely, and stepping in with a hands-on approach when needed.
You will be responsible for:
- Oversee and resource daily operational services to ensure tasks are completed on time.
- Manage and support teams, including authorising timesheets and monitoring absence.
- Lead on health & safety, risk assessments, and safe working practices.
- Provide training for staff on equipment and operational procedures.
- Investigate incidents, complaints, and service breakdowns, taking corrective action quickly.
- Ensure effective communication across teams and with the Operations Manager.
- Support with stock control, admin, and compliance duties.
- Work flexibly across sites, including weekends/Bank holidays and out-of-hours standby (with additional pay).
We’re seeking someone with:
- Full UK driving licence (up to 3.5 tonnes).
- GCSEs (Maths & English or equivalent).
- Experience of managing a team and working in an operational or office environment.
- Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
- Confident with IT systems, including MS Office.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather, take initiative, and remain calm under pressure.
- Flexible to work shifts (including weekends and standby rota).
Desirable (but not essential):
- Driver CPC / CPC management qualification.
- COTC holder.
- Degree in waste management or environmental studies.
- LGV Class 2 licence.
- IOSH Health & Safety certification.

Special Conditions
- There may be a requirement to work at other locations to meet the needs of the business.
- Expected to work reasonable additional hours in line with the needs of the service.
- A van may be issued whilst on duty.
- Must be able to work on out of hours standby service for which additional pay will be awarded.
